The largest Great Island 5K in history took place on October 9, 2011. It was a beautiful and warm day for October. Thanks to all who came out and supported the race. Tom Quinn, whose memory the race was run in, would have been pleased.

We will list registered athletes for the 2011 race under the Registered Athletes 2011 link. We will attempt to update the list frequently from now until race day. This year the first 1000 entrants will receive a high quality Swix ski hat embroidered with the Great Island 5K logo with their entry. Those interested in ordering a Great Island 5K t-shirt will be able to do so during the on-line registration process. A new year and a new look to the website. New in 2010 there will be a race walkers division with its own competition and awards. Please see the race information page in coming weeks to keep abreast of developments and specific news about the awards. In our 2008 post race survey, you overwhelmingly told us that you would like a chip starting mat. Ask and you will receive! Order of finish will still be determined by when you cross the finish line but the starting mat will allow everyone to see their actual time run time. | |
